We had a nice day yesterday at the Muscarelle Museum of Art.
There are two exhibitions ending today Michelangelo: Sacred and Profane, Masterpieces from the Casa Buonarroti and A Brush with Passion: Mattia Preti (1613-1699)
Paintings from North American Collections in Honor of the 400th Anniversary of His Birth.
It was well worth the drive to the College of William & Mary.
We started the weekend off with a Friday evening lecture at the Italian Embassy given by the Distinguished Scholar at the Muscarelle Art Museum John T Spike . He was an extraordinary speaker who managed to keep a room full of guests on the edge of their seats listening intently to historical chit chat! The Embassy is celebrating, Year of Italian Culture in the USA, 2013, with many special events all across the country.
