David's visit!

Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.2

Its Spring break for my cousin David who stopped for a visit with us on his way to a few interviews in NYC.  My Mom spent the weekend with us and stayed and made a beautiful dinner for us on Monday night.  We caught up, had lots of laughs and he shared his portfolio with us.  David is studying at UNCSA and working hard to complete a major in scenic design.  He is in his second year and is a stellar student.  We are so proud of him!
Tuesday we spent the day in DC with my Mom.
It was a jam packed day full of incredible art.  We began at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.  There is a new exhibition there called Suprasensorial: Experiments in Light, Color and Space.  It is interactive and very uplifting; we highly recommend it!
Next stop was the Freer Sackler to see the Peacock Room.
While we were there we breezed through a new exhibition Feast Your Eyes: A Taste for Luxury in Ancient Iran
This was small and just beautiful.
We stopped for a quick lunch at a favorite place of mine PAUL and then headed over to the National Gallery of Art.
We spent some time visiting two exhibitions there; Picasso's Drawings, 1890–1921: Reinventing Tradition
and The Baroque Genius of Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione
We had a fresh up at the Smithsonian American Art Museum
where we saw the Annie Leibovitz: Pilgrimage.
We ended the day with Dan and a dinner at the Carlyle in Shirlington, Dee-lish!
Whew what a day!
