Where did it go?

Where does my energy go?  I had loads of it this morning still high from last nights events at the NELA Gala! (pictures when I get home tonight)
Now it is practically 2:30pm and I am feeling it.  I wish we had a lounge with a couch at work.  Many years ago (yes I am old enough to say that) when I worked for Estee Lauder at Burdines we had several couches in our break room.  I don't think I ever took advantage of them; I was younger and had much more energy. Just ask my Mom!

I really think my office could offer one of these...a fainting couch is a nice compromise. Pretty please...

NELA Gala

Thank you Ciao DC!!!

We are thrilled because tomorrow night we will be guests at the 22cnd annual NELA Gala in Washington DC.
Ciao DC is a wonderful group that reports on all things Italian in DC.  This month they had a drawing for tickets to the gala and I won!  Grazie Grazie!!  The gala is put together each year by The Sons of Italy  honoring those who have made significant contributions in education and leadership. 
This year they will present President Bill Clinton with the highest honer.  Yipeee!

Ohh Martha

Damned Martha!  She is like the big sister you LOVE and hate all in one breath!
I was feeling put off by Martha and Omni Media because I ordered Martha Stewart Living and received Body & Soul for free with it however my subscription was running out and Martha's folks took it upon themselves to kindly renew and keep sending the magazine to my home without asking me. 

Martha, etiquette please! Emily Post would be very disappointed in this sort of behavior. 
So, I decided to take my sweet time sending my $19.95 especially since my subscription cost $14.95 last year.  I keep getting past due notes from Martha and she keeps sending the magazine. What to do?!

But today I receive a message to my blackberry of high importance from Audience Martha Show follow-up.
They want to invite me to participate in another Martha Stewart audience.
Well, of course I said Awwwwww how nice!  Yes, me, the one who was bitching earlier about the $19.95.  Oh they remembered I was a newly wed and maybe I had some questions I would like to ask Martha about being married, buying and keeping a home or making a weekly menu.
HA that is funny didn't she have a very bad parting of the ways with her husband?  Maybe she will tell me what not to do?  Well at least I know she can help me plan weekly meals and grocery shopping on a budget.

Oh Martha it is so hard to stay mad at you! I will kindly reply to your email and come to see you in season 6; but please can I have a really nice gift since this will be my third time coming to see one of my most favorite people!?

Bon Anniversaire Daniel!

Daniel has had a very good birthday day!
Even Lorenzo joined in the fun with a little family escape in the hall!

  So it is pasta arrabbiata and Martha Stewart's Mexican hot chocolate cookies for dessert. Daniel loves to eat everything with a "kick"!   No cake, just cookies and Lavazza in the french press!

After dinner we will watch one of our favorite animated films UP; one of Daniel's gifts.  I will cry and laugh and cry again; it is so fabulous!

  And maybe for some laughs we will test out his new flash cards from Janet!
