Inauguration Day

Inauguration day photos.
We ended up only listening to the swearing in and President Obama's speech at the Ronald Reagan building. Nevertheless a wonderful experience. After the swearing in we mingled with folks in the city and did a little Obama shopping. Then we prepared ourselves for the big security line. It took nearly two hours and we were just going to make watching the parade on 7th and Pennsylvania Ave. This was a relatively peaceful experience, every so often when we moved the people in line would moooo like cattle. We were not really a line it was more like a square block of people, something like a game cube filled with silver balls and every time a few were let loose it was a bit of pushing and shoving to the gate. We were bumper to bumper.
At this time we could not feel our toes but we figured it was still sunny and the parade was going to start any minute. We made a quick call to my Mom and found out the unfortunate news of Senator Kennedy, the parade was very much delayed. We gave in, headed home and watched it on the tellie.
We waited a long time for this day and enjoyed being a small part of such a big celebration.
