Eggs in a basket

Today we went to Home Depot to buy new plants for our front porch.  Our petunias were looking a little on the weary side and the pots they are in do not retain water well.  So I bought 2 new hanging baskets and thought I would just try to repot the petunias and see if they would perk up.  Daniel took the pots down for me and said:
Daniel: Did you put eggs in the basket?
Me: say what, what are you talking about? (Always eloquent)
Daniel: eggs!
Me: oh my gosh it's a robins nest!!!
Put it back right now!
Daniel: we are such city slickers!

So here it is
And no, Daniel did not get his eyes pecked out by the angry momma!
And I will have a dead plant hanging on the front porch until those baby's fly.

The Flag!

The first thing we hung on our walls of our new home was on the exterior.  Our American  flag, God Bless America, my home sweet home!

Snap,Crackle, POP!

Well it has been a little over a week that we are officially moved in.  We have had plumbers, drywall, painters and so on in and out of the house with no real problems at all.  But when left alone the new homeowners are destructive.  All it took was one tiny screw and the flip of a switch to do this...
Why yes, that is a charred light cover for our kitchen fan which now looks like this...
Daniel replaced a missing screw with any ol' screw and it was touching a wire inside the lamp!  Obviously not the right screw...

He shrugged and said well..."it wasn't our style anyway"...
Now that's my guy!! Saturday kitchen fan shopping yay!!

300 Glen

It's official, we have moved into our first home!
It was bittersweet goodbyes to Del Ray after 12 years of goodness but we have plenty of reasons to visit!
We lived in mountains of boxes for a couple of weeks and now they have been transplanted to 300 Glen!
We have no doubt fallen right into the role of homeowner...weeding, grilling, painting...all the things grown ups do!
This weekend my bow tie guy opted for ant killer ...woah!
It's a dream to go home after a long day and make as much noise (or not) as you want!!
Moving day!
Closing Day!
Lunch at Mc Garvey's after our final walk-thru, it was great to have Justin there to check everything out!
My house key, couldn't be more perfect!
We are all smiles!
