Washington Capitals-

"Unleash the Fury"
Well... that will have to wait until next year.
I had a choice be a hockey widow or be a hockey wife.  I am the hockey wife.
Really I can not help but know more than the average gal since my husband is such a HUGE fan.  He gives me no choice but to listen and learn.  At home when  watching the game I sometimes think he may have a heart attack.  I warn my neighbors in advance when a game is on and remind them he is not hurting me when he is yelling "put a body on 'em", "go wide", "GREEN"!!!
We are a hockey family.

Tonight we were fortunate enough to go to game seven. As I walked into the Verizon Center hand in hand with my hockey man my heart was thumping with anxiety and excitement.  I was holding back the tears and smiling from ear to ear with the positive promise of a BIG win.  I wanted this for my Daniel.  I WANTED TO WIN
There I was in incredible seats in a sea of red.
The game was a emotional roller coaster to say the least.  Goal scored, goal taken away.  We were in it and then we were out of it.  At the end of the day we could have played better.  Maybe we needed a little more passion maybe we just needed to "want it" more than Montreal.  Maybe... next time.

So, the ride home was a quiet one and I  could not possibly be a strong enough sounding board for my Daniel's disappointment.  So he turned to talk radio and they put him on the air!
A little release to come down from the pumping adrenaline.  It was a long day.

As I said we were lucky enough to go to the last game of the season.  Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  We made it, again, we lost and the season comes to an end.  But we still love our CAPS and we will be back for more next October!
Love you Backstrom!

All is not lost

THE BOX

The good ol' USPS is not always dependable.
For Thanksgiving I made cookies and care packages.  I sent one to Brooklyn and it did not reach the recepients.  The NY post office held onto it for 5 days and then they returned it to our Virginia post office.  We did not retrieve it until sometime in early December.  The post office could not find it!

 THE GOODS

Sometime in March we recieved the green mail card and a few days later the package arrived at our door.   Three and a half months later.

My BOY

My Lorenzo...he needs one of these!  Just NO pink please!

An Easter treat

Lorenzo thanks Nonna the Easter bunny for his new basket! At first he was skeptical but he easily fell in love. It is his new hideout!

The National Zoo

We have been so lucky to have had a few beautiful spring weekends here in DC.
Dan and I took advantage and skipped over for a visit to the National Zoo.
The animals were not the only sights to see.
Everyone here had the same idea because even at 3pm in the afternoon it was brimming with people. Children in strollers and on foot with their parents in tow.
Here are a few photos from our visit.
